Trunks Beach Do men wear speedos under their bathing Trunks?
Ok so very weird thing I saw today in the changing room at the beach.
When I was changing in the guys changing room I noticed 3 or 4 guys (2 of them who were friends since they were talking together and walked in together, the other 2 just random people) changing into their swimming trunks. A weird thing I noticed is that all 4 of these guys put on Speedos and then their board shorts. I was just wondering is this is some type of new trend with guys these days? Ive never seen a guy put on a speedo under their trunks.
I do wear my speedo, well really its a jammer, under my bathing suit. It keeps you from chafing and keeps it secure and from popping out. Thats weird bc i didnt know anybody else did it until i read this.

Spring Suit East coast fall and early spring suit?
Im looking to take my board out more than just on summer trips, but living in Vermont its challenging. I want to do some fall (sept/oct/early november even) and early spring surfing in Maine, New Hampshire or Massachusetts. Please advise on the thickness of wetsuit and most likely hood, gloves, and boots. Anything else I need to know? Thanks for the help.
You probably actually dealing with two different wet suits. One of the curses of living on the EC is that you really need a good selection of rubber.
For fall your looking at either a 3/2 full suit or short sleeve full (probably the full suit as far north as you are). In the fall the air starts to cool off long before the water so you can get away with a thinner suit for most of the fall.
In the spring, especially early spring you are dealing with very cold water temperatures even though the ait is starting to warm up. You you're looking at a 4/3 probably.
Depending upon how quickly the seasons change I can get away with a spring suit for a few weeks in the fall before switching to a 4/3, which I'll wear all winter. If it's still too warm I'll surf with the zipper undone.

I'm a guy, not a lady. I plan to wear a sarong, a t-shirt and kukui nut necklace my entire visit with board shorts underneath for hitting the waves, with Teva sandals?
What do you do with your sandals while you're snorkeling? Where do you get those surf shoes that you can wear with your Swim Fins and avoid burning your feet?
Guys wear sarongs in Hawaii too. You might want to leave the Tevas in the car or room. Get a cheap pair of rubber slippers to go to the beach if you plan on leaving them to go snorkeling. Any ABC store or grocery store sells them. Longs Drugs...WalMart, etc...
Buy surf shoes at any store that sells snorkeling/Scuba Gear...Sports Authority has them. Lot of surfs shops carry it.

I am currently in a surf life saving group and i can do everything but swim. i am 14 years old and i can swim but i get tierd after around 5-10 meters and i just give up. i really want to know how to keep swimming and not stop! i have to learn in 2 months because i offically start my SRC course.

Ugh! DON"T swim with your head out of the water. It tires you out when you have to hold your head up. Do front crawl/freestyle and breathe every second time your arm comes out of the water. I breathe every 3rd stroke but since you don't know how to swim very well this could tire you out. So breathe every 2nd stroke. Also, go to a lane swim time at your local pool and practice swimming continuously. First 25 meters, then 50 and so on. Focus and determination will get you through it with ease.
