Harmony Kayak Looking for a spray skirt for my Old Town Otter Kayak?
I am looking for a spray skirt for my Old Town Otter Kayak, I have looked at many on eBay. But most just say S,M,L, or XL but don't say what the dimensions are.
I am looking at a Harmony Elite II, but unsure what size I need in this spray skirt.
Old Town makes skirts for their boats, the size you need from their line is a 3.9:

You can also get a mini skirt for it. I have an older Perception recreation boat that I have a mini skirt for. It's great for keeping paddle drips out, but on a hot summer day, you still have plenty of air to keep you cool. This one should fit your Otter:

essentially it is better to own a right handed paddle and paddle as such because it will be easy to sell or pass on to others as more people paddle right than left!

A canoe allows you to move around in the boat and have ready access to your gear. An anchor or tether pole is easy to set from a canoe. ive got an inflatable sevylor ranger canoe and taking trip to great yarmouth broadland sands,im planning on fishing of my canoe so to geta bit more deeper water,what kind of rig do you recommend and what sort of fish can i expect ....
Depends on how deep you plan on fishing but cod are probably what you'll catch...what kinda rig? if you're fishing out of the boat you don't want a huge surf rod. take medium/heavy action rod with baitcast or spinning reel...that's your preference but if you do hang a big 'un you'll wish you had the baitcaster.
If you're just gonna paddle out and set your line and then fish from the bank you'll want a surf rod with about 1000 yards line and a spike to setup on the beach with....stainless hooks from 4/0- 8/0 and some steel leader...grabbers or a net various sized weights...slip sinkers etc...
OF course there's a marina there so you can get whatever you need...just take whatever you want.
bait is up to you but some spoons and spinners would come in handy if the waters murky..some uncle josh pork frogs are all around good bait...various grubs etc...
better yet...why don't you check out this link and ask the locals..I found a forum for great yarmouth sea fishing that might help...have fun dude..wish I was going with you. Are you a Brit or just going there?
edit: I've got a closet full of rigs but there's a couple that almost always do the trick..my favorite is a Penn peerless #9 on a 7' berkley med/hvy "ugly stick"....(but ambassador makes some good affordable reels, I've got several) my other is a 7' lite/med spinner combo by mitchell...great for casting lighter baits and in the thick...I did catch a 58# blue cat in swift water off a 30' spillway with it though.. while crappy fishing....on a crappy jig!!! set the drag and played him for over an hour but got him in. THANK GOD FOR SPIDER WIRE (12# diameter 25# test)
Caught a 180# alligator gar on the penn/berkley rig in the river...current was slow but strong. The fish was fast and strong...(spider wire and steel leader w/a slip sinker and casting buoy, live perch for bait) took about 40 minutes to get him in the boat.
Salt water stripers are the best though...haha
